Over the past several years, Mary Immaculate School has developed comprehensive technology advancements to support student learning. We have a 1:1 Chromebook program in grades 5-8. Grades TK-4 rotate two portable technology carts with Chromebooks and iPads for students to use in the classroom. Students in grades 5-8 are assigned a school email account to access the internet and assignments given by their teachers. The upper grades use Google Drive to create, edit, share, and store work and presentations. Students also use Khan Academy to practice math concepts and skills through video tutorials, lecture, practice, and assessments. In addition to Chromebooks and iPads, we have a Smartboard in every classroom. This allows teachers to incorporate technology across the curriculum in a variety of ways. Students in grades K-8 also attend a STEM class once a week. Additionally, grades 5-8 attend a Computer Coding class every week. Formal assessments and technology-based projects are also assigned as part of the school curriculum.
