Colleen Garcia Alexander

Sixth Grade Teacher

My name is Colleen Garcia Alexander, a practicing Catholic, and continued commitment and dedication to my Lord, after emigrating to the United States.

I have been in the teaching profession, here in the United States, for over twenty years. I have taught every grade, from Pre-Kindergarten to the 8th Grade level. My experiences have been in both Catholic and Private Schools. Throughout my years of teaching, I have taught every subject; however, my main focuses are, ELA and Social Studies.

Presently, I hold Associate Degrees in Education, from Belize Teachers’ College, and the University of West Indies in Jamaica, a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, and a Masters Degree in Education, from Loyola Marymount University, with a focus in English.

Throughout my years of teaching, I cooperatively and collaboratively worked with wonderful Pastors, Principals, Colleagues, Parents, and Students, from whom I have gained a wealth of valuable knowledge. Wherever the Lord takes me, to do His work, I continue to keep an open mind to learning and sharing new things.

Daily, with God as my leader, it is my goal to combine and share with students and collaborators, my wealth of knowledge, skills, strategies, creativity, enthusiasm, and passion for learning and imparting knowledge. It is my aim to make a positive contribution to the lives of those I come in contact with, but more so, our young people. My ultimate dream is to empower them in order to make a difference in their lives, communities, and work environments, as they move on to become useful contributing adults, and distinguished citizens.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be able to share my experiences, hopes, and dreams.

May God bless you abundantly!
