“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” –Benjamin Franklin

Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Krystal Adelle Flores and this is my 3rd year teaching Kindergarten at Mary Immaculate School. I am blessed to have the opportunity to continue serving the Lord and helping young minds blossom into compassionate leaders of tomorrow. Prior to entering Mary Immaculate School’s doors, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Woodbury University. I have worked at a counseling office in the college setting and with an autism behavior intervention company to provide one-on-one behavioral and educational therapy for children with autism at home and in the school setting. With this experience, I realized helping children learn and grow both educationally and socially is my passion. My educational background and prior work experiences led me to become a Substitute and Summer School teacher for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for grades TK-8th. I am currently in my 2nd year at Mount St. Mary’s University working towards my master’s degree, M.S. in Education. This experience has prepared me to differentiate instruction for students and provide them with a safe and nurturing learning environment that is personally relevant and inspires curiosity and self-discovery. In my classroom, we are a learning community and students would be encouraged to explore their interests and support peers, helping each other academically and socially.

My philosophy in education is that the children of today are the future of tomorrow. Learning is an active search for meaning and as an educator, I am a facilitator who encourages growth by meeting each student’s needs. I am excited to teach another year of the Kindergarten level where many foundational skills are established to foster success in the years coming.
