“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Hello, my name is Toni Marie Hernandez and I am thrilled to be the new First Grade Teacher at Mary Immaculate School! I started working in the educational field right out of high school, first as an Instructional Aide at an adult school, then spent the next 10 years working as a Special Education Assistant for grades K-5 at an elementary school in Northridge. While I truly enjoyed working with my students with disabilities, I knew I wanted to do more as an educator. I then went on to substitute teach at various charter schools. During this time, I pursued my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I believe every child is capable of learning; it is just a matter of finding out the best way to help them learn.
